Slow Cooked Baby Back Ribs
What You'll Need:
- 2 racks of Baby Back Ribs
- Dry Rub
- 1 medium sweet Vidalia onion, thinly sliced
- Aluminum Foil
- Your Favorite BBQ Sauce
Directions:
Preheat oven to 275. Lay out pieces of aluminum foil that are just slightly longer than the ribs. You will wrap each rack individually. I also line the cookie sheet with some foil to make clean up a little easier in case the juices spill out of the packets.
Rinse off ribs and pat dry with a paper towel.
This next step is something many people don't know to do and will take your ribs to the next level! On the bone side of the ribs, you will find a thin, shiny membrane. Starting at the smaller end of the ribs, begin to peel the membrane and discard it. It should peel off in one whole piece. If you leave it on, the ribs will still be good but there will be a rubbery texture on that side of the ribs. You can see in this photo where the membrane has been removed from the left half of the ribs.
Place the ribs on the foil and generously rub down both sides with your favorite dry rub. Scatter half of the onion slivers, on top and under each rack of ribs.
Tightly wrap the foil around the ribs. Cover the top with another piece of foil and place on the cookie sheet.
Bake for 3-4 hours.
Carefully open the foil packets and baste with your favorite BBQ sauce.
Broil for 2-3 minutes.
I made these a week ago and they were AWESOME! I used the dry rub recipe that she has posted as well. The meat is so tender and juicy. It just falls off of the bone and melts in your mouth. We struggle with getting our almost 3 year old to eat dinner most nights. She ate two ribs all by herself without us even having to ask her to eat. It was a delicious and peaceful dinner. Love this recipe!
